Here are the terms and conditions for using the solidarity microcredit offered by Micro Sol, updated as of July 28, 2025.
We are a non-profit organization (ONLUS) that aims to promote and raise awareness of solidarity microcredit for people living in developing countries who have low incomes and need a small loan to start or expand a business.

You can join the Micro Sol project for philanthropic purposes, thus allowing solidarity microcredit to benefit people who need a small loan to improve their own situation and that of their family.
We want those who decide to join the Micro Sol project to have a clear understanding of the “Conditions of Membership,” so we have organized the document into a few essential points for easy understanding.
The website we created, “microsol-onlus.org,” through the connection between lenders and beneficiaries, also aims to promote in-depth analysis and understanding of issues related to poverty, social and economic injustice, which too many people in developing countries live.
This document (“Terms of Membership”) governs all relationships and transactions between the user (referred to as the “Social Provider”) and the Micro Sol website (called “microsol-onlus.org”). By using “microsol-onlus.org”, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Membership.
We recommend that you periodically review these Terms of Membership as they may be modified at Micro Sol’s discretion; see the publication date for reference. They are sent to registered participants via email.
Maximum transparency is one of the principles that inspire our work, and you are encouraged to contact us if any aspect of this project is unclear, if you require clarification, or if you have suggestions, which are always welcome and helpful.
a.
To build supportive relationships by offering loans to people with very low incomes, those excluded from the traditional banking system.
The loans are made through one of our Partners, a non-profit microfinance institution (IMF – Microfinance Institution) that works with micro-entrepreneurs in developing countries.
Microfinance Institutions, our Partners, receive requests for microcredit from micro-entrepreneurs; They are presented through the website microsol-onlus.org, and those who visit the website can participate by supporting microcredit requests in full or in part.
b.
Spread an innovative way to show solidarity while also being very attentive to the effectiveness of the results achieved.
Avoid welfarism.
c.
Contribute to the dissemination of knowledge on issues related to poverty, exploitation, and economic and social injustice.
Play an educational role in raising awareness of solidarity microcredit and promoting people’s active participation in building relationships of solidarity.
The loan we offer is intended to be solidarity-based and therefore is interest-free.
Unfortunately, like any business, we have to bear operating costs, and therefore we inevitably ask for a contribution towards these costs.
Our income and expenses can be consulted on a periodically updated online page of the website.transparency
If the microcredit is conducted regularly and no particular problems arise, the amount lent will be returned at the end of the period indicated in the account opened on our website and can be used to provide credit for new ongoing requests.
The donations you wish to send us are used to support the organization’s operating costs: these are largely due to the cost of the accountant, to transfer the money abroad, but also to maintain the bank account, rent the internet domain, and some services related to the website’s operation with web hosting.
If you use PayPal as your money transfer system, we will receive slightly less than what you send: 1.8% + €0.34 for each transaction, which are the costs that PayPal retains.
Loans are not made directly to beneficiaries but through non-profit microfinance institutions (MFIs), savings and credit cooperatives, located in developing countries, which serve as our local partners.
Micro Sol takes the utmost care in selecting these partners: only those with the best reputation and financial and social performance are selected.
These organizations aim to reduce poverty and provide accessible working capital to the very poor.
(You can visit the website < a href=”http://mixmarket.org”>Mixmarket </a>to see how many MFIs exist; on this site you can get an idea of their size, and they are also classified based on transparency indicators.
The partner sends us the microcredit requests and the applicants’ profiles.
The loan you and other lenders make, once the requested amount has been reached, is delivered to the Partner, who It delivers it to the beneficiary and manages it throughout its duration. The beneficiary is supported throughout the entire process.
The website microsol-onlus.org serves as a repository for the requests that the Partner selects and sends to us.
Micro Sol is not directly the microcredit manager but merely acts as a collector of microloan applicants and sends the money to the Partners.
When the money is returned by the beneficiaries to the Partner and by the Partners to Micro Sol, it is made available to the Social Lender.
The microcredit can be pre-financed by the Partner or, in the initial phase, by Micro Sol. If the request submitted on the website collects the requests from you and other lenders, your money is associated with the pre-financed request; thus, you are effectively financing the micro-entrepreneur you have decided to support. In this way, a corresponding amount is made available to finance other requests.
Pre-financing is necessary because the Partner has The need to meet beneficiaries’ microcredit requests within established deadlines, preferably quickly and often tied to the agricultural cycle.
Through the Micro Sol website, microsol-onlus.org lends individually or collectively to low-income individuals in various developing countries seeking accessible capital.
This type of microcredit is considered high credit risk.
Risk factors include: lack of credit history, use of credit for “start-ups,” the risk of financial, political, and climate instability in the geographic area, and risks related to currency fluctuations.
By using microsol-onlus.org, you acknowledge and agree that Micro Sol is not legally responsible for the amount you lend to applicants; The loan is made for philanthropic purposes and does not guarantee the full or partial repayment of the amount lent.
Obviously, we strive to avoid this eventuality as much as possible, which would damage our credibility, but you should be aware that this possibility exists nonetheless.
Loans made through the Micro Sol website are philanthropic in nature; they do not offer an interest rate that could generate revenue; they should not be considered a financial investment.
Making a social loan with Micro Sol means understanding and accepting these eventualities and deciding to place your trust in the Beneficiary and Partners. This is because we want to support people excluded from the traditional banking system and allow them to work to improve their conditions.
Micro Sol does everything possible to recover the debts, but these are beneficiaries – MFIs on the other side of the world, and it is practically impossible to recover the money in the event of a dispute or if unforeseen factors intervene that make repayment impossible.
Under no circumstances can Micro Sol be directly responsible for a Partner who, for whatever reason, cannot repay the money received.
Micro Sol acts as an intermediary in the process of aggregating funds from multiple social lenders and entrusting them to the Partner, who lends them to its customers at an interest rate.
You lend money without charging an interest rate; out of solidarity, you waive the right to receive interest.
You must understand, however, that the Partner who works on site and manages the microcredit (selects the requests, verifies their feasibility, monitors them, and ensures the repayment of the loan) could not work without applying an interest rate.
The final beneficiary of the microcredit pays interest to the IMF-Partner to ensure that the IMF can cover its costs.
The Partner does not, however, have to pay any interest on what it receives from Micro Sol; We only ask the Partner for a minimum contribution towards operating costs and the costs of transferring funds to and from Italy.
Essentially, Micro Sol works to reduce the interest rate that the Partner must apply to microcredit requests as much as possible, thus making microloans suitable for people with very low incomes.
To learn more about the Partners, visit the partner page and their websites.
The microcredit fees are paid by the Beneficiaries to the Partner, who sends them to Micro Sol periodically.
Micro Sol notifies the Solidarity Lender, who can decide whether to issue a new microcredit by choosing one or more of the ongoing requests.
It may happen that, for various reasons, there is money that has been returned by the Partner and we do not have clear instructions from you on how to use these funds.
We will attempt to contact you and receive your instructions. We will make at least three attempts to contact you, after which, if we do not hear back from you, we will allocate the funds to another active request awaiting financing.
When setting up a microloan, you can decide how to use the funds once they are returned by the Partner via the website (or by sending us an email). You can manage refunds by accessing your personal area. The funds returned can be accumulated in your account and managed independently, or you can set up an automatic loan, and we will allocate the available funds to ongoing requests.
It is the lender’s responsibility to notify us of any changes to their contact information.
The microloan terms and conditions with Partners and Beneficiaries may be restructured at the discretion of Micro Sol or the Partner to comply with legal requirements or to improve the efficiency of the business.
A microcredit is considered in default (impossible to repay) when it is delayed by more than one year or months compared to the initial repayment deadline. It is possible that less than 100% of the amount lent can be repaid to you, and in this case, our commitment is to provide you with as much information as possible on the causes of this partial failure. This is a possible eventuality, even if we do everything to avoid it, and if it were to happen, you agree not to take any action (other than requests for maximum transparency) to demand reimbursement. If the funds collected are not sufficient to finance a microcredit request to which you have joined by sending money, Micro Sol will contact you to offer: a) to get the money back b) to finance another microcredit request. This circumstance could occur for various reasons: the requested amount is not collected in a timely manner, the request is no longer active for personal reasons of the applicant or due to the Partners.
You may terminate your participation in the program at any time by sending written notice to Micro Sol indicating how you wish to use any funds you may receive back in the future.
Micro Sol may cancel your participation in the project if you engage in actions contrary to Micro Sol’s objectives (e.g., spamming, spreading false information that is harmful to Micro Sol’s image, etc.). You will be notified by email, your profile will be removed, and you will no longer be able to access the Micro Sol project.
You can contact us at any time to inquire about your microcredit status. We will respond by email with the exact status of your microcredit, whether it has been assigned to the beneficiary, whether the reimbursement of the shares to the partner has begun, and whether the partner has partially or fully repaid us the credit.
We will, however, keep you updated on the status of your financing.
In a future dynamic version of the website, this information will be available directly by logging into a reserved area.
This applies to the shares you entrust to us; request annual certification by email at microsolitalia@gmail.com
Each donation is tax deductible from the donor’s total income up to 10% of the declared total income, and in any case up to a maximum of €70,000 per year; Alternatively, you can deduct 19% of the donated amount from your gross tax, up to a maximum of €2,065.83.
